Every Child Deserves a Musical Education
The Alexandria Music Makers Scholarship Fund provides need-based scholarships so Alexandria-area children can study music with a professional instructor, regardless of their family's financial situation.
What We Do
Private music instruction is one of the most powerful (and expensive) investments a family can make in a child's development. A single year of weekly 30-minute lessons costs around $2,600, before factoring in the instrument, materials, and travel.
For many Alexandria families, that cost puts music lessons out of reach. That's where we come in.
The Alexandria Music Makers Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that connects deserving young musicians with funding for private instruction from professional teachers. We handle the funding. They make the music.
From the Families We Serve
“Piano lessons have been really special for our child. She enjoys them so much and always looks forward to attending her classes. We have seen her confidence grow, and she is becoming more patient and focused too. It is beautiful to watch her learn and express herself through music.
We truly appreciate the time and care Gabi gives to the kids. It means a lot to our family. We also want to thank the people who donate and support this program. It is because of them, children like ours have the chance to learn and grow through music.”
— Betelhem“Piano has become an important part of our son's life. He looks forward to every lesson and gets excited about what he has learned. Over time, we have noticed real progress, not only in his piano skills, but also in how he concentrates, stays patient, and believes in himself. It has been wonderful to see his steady improvement.
We sincerely value the effort, kindness, and guidance Gabi gives to the children. It truly matters to families like ours. We are also very grateful to all those who make this program possible through their continued support. Their kindness gives children like our son the chance to learn, grow, and enjoy making music since music is a universal language that connects us all.”
