The Alexandria Music Makers Scholarship Fund awards need-based scholarships to Alexandria-area children for private music lessons with a professional instructor. If cost has been a barrier, we want to hear from you.

You are eligible to apply if:
Your child lives in the Alexandria, Virginia area
Private music lessons are not currently financially accessible for your family
Your child has an interest in learning an instrument or voice

Scholarships cover the cost of private music lessons with a professional instructor. Depending on availability of funding, scholarships may also assist with the cost of an instrument or materials.
A year of once-weekly 30-minute lessons typically costs around $2,600 — a significant investment for most families. Our scholarships are designed to make that possible.
